IEC New Members

We are excited to have launched several discipleship-focused initiatives in September at IEC. While there are many exciting things happening at IEC, there are also many difficult and tragic things happening in Ethiopia. On November 2, Ethiopia declared a national state of emergency due to the fighting in the country. Please join with the body at IEC as we pray wherever we are each day at noon for Ethiopia. So please pray with us for peace.

Answered Prayers

  • IEC elders had a great retreat where we got to know one another better and focused on the vision of IEC.

  • Thankful for the Harvest Church team from Memphis that visited in September.

  • Margaret has been teaching our Women’s Bible Study on the book of James with women from a variety of nations.

  • Samuel participated in the first track meet representing Bingham. Praise for a sporting event.

  • Thankful for a good IEC staff retreat on November 1-2.

Prayer Requests

  • Ethiopia is dealing with increased fighting, and we desire peace. We pray for calm and resolution. As we mentioned above, Ethiopia is in a state of emergency.

  • Pray for those who are going without food and needed supplies.

  • Pray for Ethiopia as inflation has increased rapidly and is impacting everyone.

  • Pray for the church as Steve and other elders preach on Foundations from Genesis 1-11. Pray the church will use the message of Genesis 1-11 to faithfully disciple.

  • Pray for the IEC Women’s Christmas Tea which is an opportunity for women at IEC to build relationships and to connect their unchurched friends with the women of IEC.

  • Pray for Margaret as she continues Amharic lessons.

  • Pray for the personnel, missionary, and many facilities needs at IEC (delayed maintenance, youth center). Pray for patience, wisdom, and provision as we hope to start construction soon, but delays are frequent. We have completed two projects - adding security cameras and having two large tents made for outdoor seating. Click here to see a list of needs.
