Needs at IEC
UPDATED November 2022: IEC is a church blessed to have people from approximately 60 nations worshipping together. Below are some various needs of IEC.
Sending an IEC missionary to North Africa. An IEC Ethiopian member has served with the unreached here in Ethiopia. He will be moving with his family to North Africa by the end of the 2021 and is in need of financial support.
Interns - It costs approximately $2400 per year to support an intern serving at IEC.
Bibles and books are very difficult to find. IEC is a hub for the evangelical community in Addis Ababa. Bibles and books are needed to re-establish a bookstore. ESV Bibles and other books brought from the US cost approximately $15 each.
Retaining wall - this is currently urgent as we need to work on it before rainy season begins. The property of IEC is on a river that is quickly washing away a significant portion of the church land. This has impacted the second largest building at the church and it can no longer be used due to damage done from the river. We are praying the CE building survives rainy season. The retaining wall costs $150,000 to do protect the land and approximately $500,000 to build a permanent solution and reclaim lost land.
Christian Education Building repair - after we repair the retaining wall we need to repair the building damage caused by the lack of a retaining wall. This will cost approximately $50,000.
Worship Center Media and Music Update - the sound and music equipment at IEC is very old and in need of repairs, updates, and replacements. Approximately $8000 needed.
IEC Youth Center - we have started work, but permits, revisions, and now the rainy season have created delays. Inflation is extreme in Ethiopia and prices of concrete have more than doubled which have significantly increased the cost of the project. Approximately $125,000 is needed to complete the project.
