IEC Couples Night 2025

On Friday, February 14, IEC hosted our annual Couples Night, an evening dedicated to celebrating and nurturing the love between married couples in our community. With over 80 couples in attendance, the night was filled with laughter, connection, and meaningful moments of reflection.

This year's theme was rooted in the powerful words from 1 Peter 4:8 (ESV)"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly (deeply), since love covers a multitude of sins." It was a beautiful reminder of the depth, grace, and reflection of Christ that marriage should embody.

Throughout the evening, couples enjoyed a variety of activities designed to foster fun and connection. They took pictures, played games, shared meals together, and engaged in table discussions about the importance of love in their relationships. In addition to these moments of enjoyment, Steve led a teaching from 1 Peter 4:8, focusing on three key points:

  1. A Christ-Centered Love Is Deep
Love, when centered on Christ, goes beyond surface-level affection. It dives into the depths of sacrifice, patience, and selflessness, just as Christ loved us deeply.

  2. A Christ-Centered Love Covers Sins
Just as Christ’s love for us covers our sins, a Christ-centered love in marriage extends grace, forgiveness, and understanding, even in times of struggle.

  3. A Christ-Centered Love Reflects Christ
The love between a husband and wife should reflect the love that Christ has for His Church—sacrificial, unconditional, and always pursuing the good of the other.

At the end of the evening, couples were invited to come together in prayer, lifting up their marriages and seeking God's guidance for a love that mirrors His own. It was a beautiful reminder of how, through Christ, our marriages can grow stronger, more loving, and more reflective of His glory.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to witness and support the love that God has placed in the hearts of each couple. It was a memorable night, and we look forward to seeing the continued growth of these relationships as they are centered on Christ.
