Year End Family Update

We have had a very busy fall! Below is a brief update on our family.

Samuel is completing his first semester at Samford University, and he is busy as one of the managers for the basketball team. He has found a church, campus ministry, and good friends. He also has a part-time remote job doing analytics for high school basketball games. We are thankful. He will be here with us for two weeks during Christmas.

Noah just completed his U19 volleyball season with a league championship. He competed in the local ISSAA track meet. He made the U19 football (soccer) team that will travel to Kenya in February for the International Christian School Association tournament. Please continue to pray for healing for his ear. His surgery this summer went well, but he still has a tiny hole. He has been volunteering at Make Your Mark where two of the boys in his group have trusted Christ. Noah has been serving at IEC on a weekly basis as an usher. He also has been coaching basketball for younger middle school boys.

Benjamin just finished volleyball season as well. He has been doing really well this first semester in high school. He brought home a stray tiny puppy that we are nursing to health with another family. He also serves at IEC each Sunday with the children’s Sunday school classes. He and Noah have both joined the Model UN team at Bingham.

Daniel just finished football season with a big win. He competed in field day in almost all the running events. Daniel is playing percussion in the school band. He has been really sick the past couple of weeks so please pray for complete healing and fast recovery.

Margaret has been leading the Women’s Bible Study at IEC on the book of Exodus with women from the US, France, Indonesia, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ethiopia. She leads the Bingham Moms in Prayer each week. Margaret is also teaching at our annual Ladies’ Christmas Tea on December 7. Over 300 women have signed up to attend. The theme is Joy.

Steve has been preaching through the book of James and is about to start our Christmas series. He was able to go to the Lausanne Congress in South Korea in September and also had IEC partner with the East Africa Sending Agency to host a missions conference with people attending from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. We are in the third year of Downline as we train over 70 people both from IEC and other area churches in making disciples. Steve’s work permit and the family’s residency are being processed in December. This is never an easy process, but is required for us to live and serve here. Steve and Margaret are currently counseling several couples who are preparing for marriage.

This fall has been full of ministry, projects, and kids’ sports. God’s goodness abounds. We are honored to get to share some things we are grateful for and prayer requests.
